ICC Rankings Test, ODI & T20

England win the toss and chose to bowl.

Eoin Morgan: “It’s a nice place to chase, the wicket looks really good. We’re going to have to play extremely well and be disciplined to beat the Proteas. Both teams will look to defend the short boundary, our plans will be dictated by that. We’ve seen Saqib make his T20 debut in NZ, he’ll take the new ball with Tom Curran, and Adil and Moeen come in to get some cricket under their belts before the series. Amazing to be able to contribute to an amazing cause like the pink day. Hopefully, today’s our day.”

Quinton de Kock: “Would have preferred to bowl first. We’ll deal with what we have. It’s a very good wicket, I don’t think it’ll change over the course of the way. We’ll have to bat well and defend. Lungi Ngidi comes back in, more of a seam-friendly wicket. We’re going to have to play around with the bowlers. It’s always a great occasion coming out here in pink. It’s going to be a good day, hopefully, the weather stays away.”
